Ivan Grgić was born on October 17, 1993, in Mostar, where he completed elementary school and graduated from the Ruđer Bošković High School of Electrical Engineering in 2012. In 2015, he completed the undergraduate study program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture. In 2017, he completed the graduate study program in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Automation and Drives, at the same faculty. In 2022, he defended his PhD thesis titled “Control System of a Photovoltaic-Fed Quasi-Z-Source Inverter with a Novel Pulse-Width Modulation” under the mentorship of prof. dr. sc. Dinko Vukadinović.
Since 2017, he has been employed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split, and in 2024 he was elected to the position of assistant professor. In terms of scientific research, he is currently working on power electronic converters used in photovoltaic systems and microgrids. He has contributed as a researcher to three scientific projects: two international and one national project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation.
