Josip Vasilj earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture at the University of Split in 2010. In 2014, he defended his doctoral dissertation, titled “The Impact of Stochastic Energy Sources on the Optimal Operation of the Power System”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sc. Ranko Goić.
He currently works as a researcher and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture in Split, where he also serves as the Head of Power Systems and Substations laboratory.
His research focuses on applying advanced numerical methods to the analysis and planning of power system operations. Key methodologies in his work include optimization, model predictive control, and machine learning.
