Marin Mandić was born on January 12, 1994, in Split. He completed elementary school in Donji Proložac and the Natural Science and Mathematics Gymnasium in Imotski. After completing his undergraduate university studies in 2015 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture, he also completed his graduate studies at the same faculty in 2017. In 2023, he defended his PhD thesis titled “Optimization model for energy storage operation in a market-oriented power system” supervised by Prof. Elis Sutlović. He currently works as a researcher and senior assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture.
His primary research interest is focused on energy storage technologies within the context of power systems, with a particular emphasis on optimizing the operation of energy storage in market-oriented power systems. His work focuses on analyzing and addressing the challenges faced by modern power systems, where the use of energy storage is emerging as one of the key solutions.
