Tomislav Kilić was born in Ričice, Croatia, in 1961. He received the MEE and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split, Croatia, in 1986, and 2001, respectively. Additinaly, he obtained an M.S. degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in 1996.

After completing his graduate studies he joined the Radio Industry Zagreb (RIZ) in 1986 and was engaged in the development and design of electronic weight systems. Since 1987, he has been working at at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split, where he advanced through academic positions, from assistant to full professor in permanent position. He spent three months on professional training at GEM SYSTEMS, Toronto, Canada. Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous government and industry-sponsored projects.

Prof. dr. sc. Kilić held the positions of Head of the Department, Vice-Dean for Education for two terms, Dean for two terms, and Vice-Rector of the University of Split for two terms. His research areas include power quality and measurements of electrical and process quantities.
