Equipment Donation by Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL)

Equipment Donation by Schneider Electric d.o.o.

This year, Christmas arrived early at the Electrical Power Networks and Installations Laboratory at FESB. Owing to a generous donation from Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), our lab now has four cutting-edge relays. The donation includes two SEL-851 Feeder protection relays, which provide comprehensive feeder protection, monitoring, and control in acompact housing, as well as two SEL-787L Line current differential relays, for lines and feeders. These advanced relays enable students to learn about the latest technology in this field and test functions they were only able to hear about only theoretically before.

A heartfelt thank you goes to SEL for their invaluable contribution, and special recognition to Veselin Skendžić, FESB alumnus, for making this donation possible. Below are some photos from the first lab session, where students connected and tested line differential protection, learned about importance of CT polarity, stability tests and methodology of differential protection testing.
