Guest Lecture by Dr. habil. Eng. Paweł Pijarski, Associate Professor

As part of our efforts to foster international collaboration and exchange knowledge on some of the most pressing issues in modern power systems, we had the privilege of hosting Dr. habil. Eng. Paweł Pijarski, Associate Professor at the Department of Power Engineering, Lublin University of Technology, Poland.
Topic: Operation of the power system under conditions of high generation in RES - selected problems and challenges Date: Wednesday, 25 June 2025. 11:15 AM Venue: Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB), University of Split
Dr. Pijarski delivered a compelling lecture addressing the challenges posed by increasing integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into the power grid. This introduces a range of technical issues that demand the application of advanced mathematical methods for their mitigation. By leveraging these tools, grid operators can delay costly infrastructure upgrades while efficiently eliminating existing threats. The lecture showcased several real-world challenges and problem-solving approaches from the perspective of the Polish power system.
