Students of Electrical Engineering at the 17th DIE Conference

On October 3, 2025, students took part in the 17th Days of Electrical Engineering conference, organized by the Croatian Chamber of Electrical Engineers. The event was held in Bol, on the island of Brač, and set a new attendance record of around 1,300 participants. The students joined the event under the professional supervision of the Head of Deartmetnt PhD Damir Jakus and research assistant Joško Novaković.
The conference program began with an opening address by the President of the Chamber, Natko Vučković, followed by a lecture from Prof. Dr. Sc. Nela Vlahinić on the topic “Networks for the Promotion of Women in the Energy Transition”. As part of the program, a lecture was also held by the Vice President of the Chamber, Željko Radić, who introduced the students to the basic terminology, the scope of the Chamber’s work, current projects, and the application of BIM software in electrical engineering.
As part of the visit, the students toured the exhibition area and promotional stands of renowned domestic and international companies, including OBO Bettermann, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ETI, Končar, and Vertiv. During the tour, they had the opportunity to engage directly with industry representatives, learn about the latest technological solutions and products, and gain insight into potential employment opportunities.
Participation in the conference provided the students with an overview of current challenges in the profession, as well as an opportunity to establish contacts with potential employers—thus further encouraging their professional orientation and understanding of the role of a licensed electrical engineer in technological development and the energy transition.
