Transmission network losses in HEP utility

Abstract

This article describes the issue of power and energy losses in the transmission network of the Croatian Electric Power Company. A historical overview and the current state of losses in the transmission network are given, while power flow analyses show the sensitivity of losses to the way power plants are engaged and electricity imports are used, and the reduction of losses is conditioned by the planned construction of the transmission network in the coming years.
