Wind farms integration in Croatian power system and economic valorization of generated electrical energy

Abstract

The paper describes two important aspects of wind power plant operation related to the perspective of wind power development in Croatia. The first relates to the systemic impact of wind power plant operation in the interconnected power system. Possible impacts and interactions with the existing system are described based on findings from some EU countries, respecting the specificities of the operation of the Croatian power system. The second aspect relates to the economic valorization of electricity production produced in wind power plants, i.e. possible ways to ensure the purchase of electricity, including an estimate of the amount of necessary subsidies.
