The contribution of mutual overhead lines electromagnetic coupling to loading current off from earthing in condition of single short circuit

Abstract

The article presents the results of the contribution of mutual electromagnetic coupling between parallel-conducted transmission lines to the current relief of the grounding device of a substation affected by a single-pole short circuit. The research is based on an originally developed mathematical model, which treats the entire multitude of lines entering the considered substation as a single system of electromagnetically coupled circuits. The usual use of reduction coefficients does not valorize the positive contribution that occurs with parallel overhead lines.
