Impulse Impedance of Earthing Grid with Constant Parameters

Abstract

A numerical model for calculating the impulse impedance of a meshed earthing conductor has been developed. The basis of the model is a combination of the finite element method and the method of characteristics. It is assumed that the parameters of a single segment of the earthing conductor are constant, i.e. independent of time and frequency. For a single straight conductor, analytical and numerical results have been compared.
