This paper presents the basic construction and principle of operation of transformers for galvanic separation, as well as their application in medicine, where they represent one of the basic measures of protection against indirect contact. Transformers for galvanic separation meet all the criteria prescribed by the international standard IEC 60364-7-710. Special attention is paid to the detailed presentation of two basic types of transformers for galvanic isolation: ES710 and DS0107, as well as to all other equipment manufactured by Bender, which make up the protection system of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar.
