The paper describes the development and construction of a firewood cutting device. The introductory part of the paper presents the type of logs that are intended for cutting with a device of this type. Patents and existing devices on the market are also investigated. After that, a functional decomposition was made, based on which 4 concepts of firewood cutting devices were created. The concepts were evaluated based on criteria that emerged from the market and demand analysis. A morphological matrix was created for the best concept, showing possible solutions for each function. Finally, a control calculation was made and the necessary dimensions of machine parts and standard components of the device were selected. Based on the calculation and standard parts, a computer model and technical documentation of the device were created.
