Fast Measurement of Soil Thermal Properties by Spherical Probe

Abstract

This paper presents step response of spherical probe taking into calculation thermal resistance and self capacity of probe. Realisation of probe with electrical heater and temperature detector as well as addition measuring devices are described. Algorithm for calculation of soil thermal properties and theirs standard deviation using the least square method from temperature response is presented as well as practical application of this measurement method and results obtained on underground power cable route.
