The paper describes an approach to solving the problems of electromagnetic compatibility in the hydropower plant Peruca, which is in the process of refurbishment. Possible sources of electromagnetic disturbances are identified. Coupling paths of electromagnetic disturbances and their influence on the sinsitive electronic equipment are studied. Special attention is paid to the metal enclosed SF6 switchgear 110 kV as one on the most powerful sources of electromagnetsic disturbances. The paper gives proposition of measures for reducing electromagnetic disturbances. Measurements for finding out the level of electromagnetic compatibility in the complicated hydropower plant system, which contains both power and electronic equipment, are proposed.
