Lightning transient Response of GSM Base Station Earthing Grid

Abstract

This paper presents a numerical model for GSM Base Station earthing grid electromagnetic transients analysis. The model is based on the use of computer program UZEM combined with computer program MicroTran-EMTP. The main advantage of the proposed method is that at the first time the horizontally stratified earth model in earthing grid transients analysis has been used. In all other approaches, the earth model is limited to homogeneous earth.
