Modeling of electromagnetic transients on transmission lines using the finite element method

Abstract

This paper describes the use of the finite element method when modeling electromagnetic transients on transmission lines in the time domain. The numerical procedure based on FEM faor a system of Telegrapher’s equations is presented.
