Load flow and short circuit analysis on PC in Windows graphical environment

Abstract

Analyzes of power flows, short circuits and ground connections form the basis of power system management and planning. This paper will present the basic characteristics of advanced mathematical models for the calculation of voltage conditions and power flows, which enables a separate or joint analysis of low-voltage, medium-voltage and high-voltage networks, and for the analysis of short and ground connections, which enable the analysis of single and multiple short and ground connections simultaneously on one or more places. Based on these models, a program package for a personal computer (PC) in the Windows graphical environment called TOKSwin was created. The software package is designed on a modular basis (a module for the analysis of voltage conditions and power flows and a module for the analysis of short and ground connections) and enables users to work easily and comfortably.
