Small Photovoltaic Power Plant Influence to the Power Quality Parameters

Abstract

The impact of small solar power plants on the grid and on power quality parameters (voltage fluctuations, voltage unbalance and harmonics) is very significant. The ability of the power system to absorb these disturbances depends on the short circuit strength at the connection point. The paper analyses the impacts of existing small solar power plants on power quality parameters. In particular, the correlation between the parameters of total harmonic current distortion (THDi) and total harmonic current distortion relative to full load (TDDi) is analysed.
