Three-Phase Programmable Sinusoidal Voltage Calibrator

Abstract

Laboratory setup for generation of sinusoidal voltage of programmable amplitude, phase and frequency is presented in the paper. Core of the voltage generator is three-phase inverter with the LC filter which attenuates higher voltage harmonics, especially integer multiples of switching frequency. Control algorithm is developed in MATLAB/Simulink environment and compiled on dSPACE controller board. Advantage of this approach in comparison to traditional approach is in omission of voltage amplifier which is usually the most sophisticated and complicated setup component. Phase can be set in range 0 - 360 degrees and voltage amplitude is limited by the DC link voltage. DC link voltage is set to 150 V to emulate secondary side of voltage measuring transformers. Frequency can be changed in 0.5 Hz steps. Test setup hardware components, block diagram of control algorithm and performance results in time and frequency domain are presented.
