Power Flow Analysis Using the PSS/E Software
Abstract
In this paper, the capabilities of the software package PSS/E 34 version of Xplore were studied, with an emphasis on power flows. It is a versatile software that is used for calculations and analysis of various network conditions and helps in power system management. After the introduction, the second chapter discusses the description and purpose of power flow calculations. The variables with which each node (bus) is defined are listed, and how the type of bus is determined. The third chapter describes the history of the PSS/E program package and its area of use. The fourth part specifically describes the program module for calculation and analysis of power flows within the program, as well as optimal power flows. In the last, fifth part of the paper, examples of power flow calculations within the program package are given.
