Analysis of a Current Induced along the Horizontal Grounding Electrode due to Short-circuit Generator Current

Abstract

The paper deals with the analysis of a short-circuit generator current when the generator is grounded via horizontal grounding electrode. In order to analyze the current induced along the electrode, an analytical solution of the Pocklington integro-differential equation combined with the current equation for a short-circuit generator current is used. By performing a convolution of these expressions, a novel equation is obtained directly in the time domain defining the short-circuit current induced along the electrode.
