Analysis of wind turbine 7 and 8 breakdown in the wind farm Trtar - Krtolin with protection measures recommendations
Abstract
The paper analyzes the cause of the failure of wind turbines VE 7 and VE 8 in the Trtar – Krtolin wind farm. After the most likely cause of the transformer failure in the mentioned wind turbines was established, specific measures to improve the overvoltage protection of the Trtar – Krtolin wind farm system were proposed. In this regard, the selection of appropriate surge arresters for wind turbine protection was carried out, and instructions for their installation were provided.
