Overvoltage protection selection for generators A, B, C and D in HPP Zakucac
Abstract
The paper presents a computer analysis based on which the specific overvoltage protection of new generators in the Zakucac HPP was then selected. This involves the selection of parameters for metal-oxide surge arresters (without spark gaps) at the generator voltage level in the Zakucac HPP. The selection was made based on the analysis and calculation of expected overvoltage conditions at the generator voltage level (expected temporary, switching and atmospheric overvoltages), after which a computer check of the operation of the selected surge arresters was carried out.
