The article presents the calculation of rod lightning protection as the most commonly used lightning protection. The calculation of the influenced charge was made using two methods: the method of potential coefficients and the method of boundary elements. Based on the results of the calculation, it is possible to more precisely define the protective zone of the lightning rod.
